The developers of Roosevelt Estates made the creation of this community as the center of beautiful West Palm Beach. Miles of sand was dredged and graded, water and sewerage systems installed, paved streets, landscaping and preparation were put into the area before actual home construction began. Every faet of the neighborhood was planned by Roosevelt Developers, Inc. An experience construction team, who had the knowledge and fulfiling and following the city's mandate to provide not merely decent and adequate housng, but progressive planing of a beautiful 9 hole Golf Course. recreational area, planned parks, playgrounds, church sites and shopping center.
In 1997, The City of West Palm Beach led by Commissioner Mary Hooks intitiated a major Capital Improvement project of importance to the residence of Roosevelt Estates that reconstructed the canal to beautify the neighborhood and increase property values. The park was named "Westward Linear Park" because the area was known and referred by residents as the Westward Expansion from the Northwest Neighborhood.
